A New Hope

Star Wars: A New Hope begins by telling us the rebel leader, Princess Leia, put the stolen plans of the Death Star in a droid called R2-D2. Both R2-D2 and C-3PO were directed to the planet Tatooine with the Rebel Alliance’s stolen plans. Later on Luke Skywalker stumbled upon Princess Leia’s hidden message on the drone. In the message Leia wanted help from Obi-Wan Kenobi. After Luke finds Obi-Wan, he tells Luke he is a trained Jedi. They both were asked to take this information about the threat of the Death Star having the capability to destroy a whole planet back to her home planet, Alderaan. Luke joins after finding out the imperial stormtroopers destroyed his home and killed his aunt and uncle.

Obi-Wan and Luke visit Mos Eisley to hire smuggler Han Solo and his Wookie, Chewbacca, to help them transport them on their ship, the Millenium Falcon. After some travel they find that Princess Leia’s home planet, Alderaan, has been destroyed by the Death Star. They travel and believe they found a small moon in space but it end up being the Death Star with its enormous size. The Death Star captured them in the Falcon with their tractor beam. The group of them works together to try and rescue Princess Leia that was on the Death Star while Obi-Wan attempted to destroy the tractor beam so they could escape. After many close calls the group was able to find and free Princess Leia and bring her back to the ship. Obi-Wan died in a dual with Darth Vader.

After the group retreats, they take Princess Leia and the information back to Yavin 4. There, they find a vulnerable area on the ship, they plan on attacking. They create a rebel assault squad and Luke successfully destroys the Death Star while Darth Vader gets away. Luke was awarded a medal from Princess Leia for his heroic acts.
