Classic, Legendary Movie
Star Wars is one of those classic movies that everyone has heard about, even if you haven't seen it yourself. The characters are so widely recognizable, the lessons are so universally applicable, and the sci-fi special effects have people entertained to this day. Those lasting characteristics about this movie are what are impressive to me. I had not seen this movie until now, and I was not disappointed. Yoda had me laughing and the iconic characters were easy to understand throughout the movie. A friend of mine has seen every Star Wars movie at least ten times, and he was floored when I told him this was actually an assignment for my class. We watched it together so he could explain every little detail (and recite almost every word). I am not that fanatical about the series, but I was glad I had the opportunity to watch this legendary film. The lasting messages that are shown in Star Wars are truly respectable and admirable. Maybe I'll go watch another!

I agree, Mark. I always heard others talking about Star Wars, but it was something I never got into. Even as such, I knew all of the main characters and the vital concepts of the films. I remember I was 10 or 11 years old when the "third" film came out, and my friend forced me to watch it. It felt like the worst two hours of my 11-year-old life. Looking back at it now, it's funny to think about how lame I thought the films were when I was in elementary school, because I really enjoyed watching this one.

ReplyDeleteGreat review, good to hear you enjoyed the film. I had no idea there was such a separation between our generation - it seems people have either seen all of them or none of them. You are spot on about how the details and technology in this movie alone is still talked about today (not to mention the other 5). And you're right - the characters are noticeable and referenced even if you have never seen any of the movies before.
