5 Foot Tall: Sweet but Small

Before and even while I was reading Quiet, I have always thought of myself as an extrovert kind of person when it comes to most everything in life. My friends and family would agree with me on that. I have never had a problem with meeting new people or being in the middle of large groups of people. My family and friends have described me as bubbly, outgoing, talkative, energetic, and friendly. I enjoy my job very much for this reason. I work in retail sales which has really helped me as an extrovert person because in the retail field you need to be outgoing and be able to communicate with customers. This trait has allowed me to do very well when it comes to interviews, and interacting with other people. For example on interacting with other people, I met my best friend Rachael when we were in pre-school. She was more of an introvert, and tended to be very shy. I was very outgoing and it is true that sometimes opposites attract because her and I instantly became best friends and have continued to be best friends for the past 17 years! Back to me being an extrovert kind of person when it comes to most everything in life, I say most everything because when it comes to giving a speech I become beyond nervous. I get clammy palms and i stutter and forget the spots I'm at in my speech. I find I get most nervous because I don't feel confident in what I've wrote so I am hoping this class will improve my confidence in my writing and improves it so that I can be more confident and outgoing when it comes to giving speeches.
