Do you think that Humans should be a two plant life? Well,
after watching this episode, It might change your mind. The earth is sitting in
an area in the universe that is very common to getting hit with meteorites and
things of this nature. Scientists believe that soon than later the earth we
live on is going to get hit with a large meteorite that will kill most of the
human population. There is possibly another plant that could support human
nature. This planet is roughly about a four day travel on a space ship, have
any guess. This planet can be seen from earth as being red. Mars has all that
elements and nature resources to support human existence. Mars has carbon dioxide
that humans could turn into oxygen. There is also believed to have water in the
caps of mars that humans would be able to drink. The dirt on Mars is said to be
enriched, therefor plant life would be able to grow and grow well. It is said that mars shows sign of erosion;
this means mars had water on its surface much like the earth and it was thought
that possibly had some type of life form. Colonizing Mars will not happen overnight,
but may happen in the future. I am going to leave with this question. Do you
think that if people could colonize mars, there would be a war to see that
country took over mars? Just something I thought was a valid point within the
video.
Mars does sound like a good second planet to live on, but what about all of the precautions that need to be taken with civilians? They do not go through the same strenuous and time consuming exercises and requirements that astronauts do. Who do you think would be allowed to be the first people colonized on Mars (the elderly, families, etc)? It would take so long to start a colonization on Mars that the people on Earth will not want to go because it is considered "old news" and not as interesting as when the first announcement of colonization was said.
ReplyDeleteTo follow your question: do you think that if people could colonize Mars, there would be a war to see that country took over Mars? I think that no matter what, there will be an argument that may possibly lead to a future war. We all are human beings, and therefore live for competition. If Mars was ever to be colonized I think some people would fight to live on that planet, whereas others would rather fight to continue living on Earth. I believe that it is important to keep our eyes open to new changes that might actually help human kind. I think people need to first realize that the planet Earth isn't going to exist forever. It will last a long time, but just like the dinosaurs, all living things one day will become extinct. What is your intake about Mars? Would you be willing to live on Mars if we were able to colonize it?
ReplyDeleteMars has shown signs of past life because water erosion and enriched soil among other things have been found there but what happened to that past life? Where did it go or is it still there somewhere? I think there may be some conflict with other countries if we colonized on Mars. Some countries will want to say that Mars belongs to them and take the credit for creating another life sustaining planet. A bigger issue to deal with could be what already exist on Mars. If there is life on Mars and we don’t know it, war among the countries on Earth could be the least of our worries.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post. After reading your opening question, I realized I had the same thought while watching the video too. I myself am not sure Humans should be two planet enhabitits. I am not so sure there would be a war over what country would take over Mars or not.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be a daily struggle for the colony to survive because they would have to depend on safe shelter to guard them from the cold temptures and radiation, grow their own food in artificial greenhouses, and risk their lives to explore the remainder of the planet.
I think it is good to move forward on exploring the idea of a colony on Mars, but I think it will still take a long time to get there. Probably not in my lifetime!
