The universe is a vast, open space where countless things live. There are our planets, the meteor strips, the other planet's moons, the sun, the stars, our moon, and NASA knows what else lives in this universe. I believe there are multiple universes besides our own but we do not have the technology or knowledge to locate them. There is the Star Wars, Star Trek, Narnia, and Beetlejuice's universes exist in movies, but what stops them from being a reality? A universe holds its contents in an orbit that only the inhabitants know and it acts as a guard from outside universes. In the game Star Ocean, the player goes through the game trying to find the main character's parents and his close friend. At the end of the game, the player confronts the main boss and learns that the character's world is just a universe created by other people in another universe. The "creator" universe did everything they could do prevent the main character from realizing that he and his world was just data.
I also believe that the universe is like a memory card. When there is too much saved and none of the old stuff is being deleted, it starts wiping out the oldest data to make room for the new. This is what happens in our universe: there are too many old stars and meteors, so the universe changes a certain way to cause a reaction inside the star or meteor so it explodes. Then a new star or meteor is born and starts its life cycle.
I am not saying that the universe is some type of god or acting like God, as it was created by God. With everything else that was created by Him, this universe has a mind of its own and has free will to do as it pleases.
