Life on Mars

I honestly couldn't imagine living on another planet. The life that is Mars to me is no life at all, you might as well live in a bubble. They have a chance of running out of supply's, and then what are you going to do? I love being able to walk outside and not have to have a space suit on. I wake up every morning knowing we have enough supply's here, food, water, plenty of oxygen, etc. While living on Mars you see the same people everyday, I mean yes for the most part I see the same people where I live, but knowing I can change that by picking up and just moving across town or to another state is awesome. There are so many options here on Earth. My parents use to watch Star Trek, so I have seen some of that and even though it was just a show, it showed to me that life in space wouldn't be all that exciting. If I had a chance to live in space, I wouldn't do it. I don't even know if I would want to just go for how ever long the astronauts go for at a time, I would go crazy. I need to be able to do different things everyday. Yeah the PA weather sucks at times but if I didn't get all four season it would be weird to me. PRobably because that is I grew up the past twenty three years here in PA and when I graduate I do plan on moving and I love warm weather but I don't think I could live where it's warm all the time. Waking up on Christmas to 75 degree weather just doesn't sound fun. Home is where th heart is, and Earth is it. We have so much we can do on this planet and I wouldn't live anywhere else.

  1. I could not possibly agree with your distain about space travel. I too, would never want to live in space, nor travel to space. To me there is something to be said about waking up in the morning and having the birds chirping, walking outside to get the mail and saying hello to the next door neighbor. It's the little things that every day life on Earth provides us that I would miss the most. I love a great thunderstorm in the summer, I enjoy laying in a field and looking up at the sky and watching the stars from this beautiful planet. I feel that these things would be impossible on Mars, or any other planet for that matter. Earth is the place for me, and heaven forbid, if something happens to this home of mine that would force us to space, I, for one, would go down with this beautiful ship.

  2. I agree with every word you wrote. I could not live in such an empty, lifeless, rock. There are so many senses I would miss about Earth life. To me, nothing on Mars would make it worth moving there to live such a miserable life. The constant worry, the hassle of the equipment, the loneliness. I may complain about this place a lot, but I would not really want to be anywhere else.
