Parking for Mars

When you sit down and an eleven page paper is presented to not only you, but to thousands of other people, it makes you take a step back and analysis things at a different angle. The author put this in the reading to show how patient people can truly be about their work. The eleven page paper was entitled where no flag had gone before. These men in women were going to change history as we know it today. They were going to plant a flag on the moon. The outer space treaty, of which the United States signed, prohibits claims of sovereignty upon celestial bodies. The organization saw this as being prohibited, but didn’t let this get in there movement forward . Was it possible to plant a flag without appearing to be taking possession of the moon. Now the author is making you think in the eyes of other nations. Well, if you plant a flag on the moon than I would say you are taking possession of it. The committee of Vexillological Association, which deals with the flag came out with the notion to let the flag fly. This is a great idea, but it will not work.This is because a flag can’t fly without wind. The moon has no atmosphere that we know of, thus making the moon have no wind. This was where the help from the NASA technical services division would come into play. The Division came up with a device that made the flag blow in the wind. Thus leading to the first flag planted upon the moon by the best country in the world.
