Ree Dolly: a role model of perseverance

Perseverance by definition ( according to Webster.com) is " the continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties."  In the movie Winter's Bone it becomes apparent quickly that the main character, Ree Dolly, is blessed with the gift of perseverance.  At the tender age of 17, she proves this to her family, neighbors, and law enforcement time and time again.  It is said the teenage years are supposed to be the happiest time of one's life but as we take a closer look, it will be clear this is far from the truth for this young woman.  Ree Dolly demonstrates true perseverance when she collectively deals with circumstances beyond her control in her home life, resists temptations of drug use from her uncle, and even endures physical abuse throughout the main story line in Winter's Bone
