Hermione
Granger from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is very good at acquiring
knowledge. Hermione is a walking computer. She has read most every book and
researched most every topic known in the wizarding world. But, the personality
characteristic that gets her the most knowledge is her stubbornness. Throughout
the book, you see Hermione as this hardheaded, smart, stubborn girl who does
her work and yells at the boys for doing anything outside of the rules. Once
she gets on the boat for something she doesn’t get off.
How do you feel about Hermione while you were reading the book? I remember the first time I read the book I was very surprised to see her in Gryffindor as she comes across as very snobby and "all-knowing" like a Slytherin in the first few interactions with Harry and Ron. However, I think that "a walking encyclopedia" is more like Hermione as you said, she reads A LOT. Do you think she has a computer at home or would rather curl up with a book? I like how you used the boat reference as it is the final path to enter Hogwarts for first-year students.
ReplyDeleteYou point out some very strong points that show how Hermione can be very stubborn. Do you think that her personality had shifted throughout the novel? What do you think of when Hermione first got to Hogwarts, she acted better than everyone. I feel that she was, so smart that it was hard not being mean to people she thought less of. There was a part in the novel where she lied for Harry and Ron , what do you think about that ,as it was way out of her character ? I believe you were short on length , just don’t want to see you lose points.
