Technology

I believe that social media ruins intimacy, with the people using it. When people that are not familiar with social media, it is a way for them to learn and keep up with family and friends. But for some people it is there life and they are always on it. It is a way for you to keep up with friends and family that you have not seen in awhile. I was one of those kids that when social media first came out I did not get it rate away. All my friends told me to get it. When I joined Facebook, I found friends that I have not seen in years. I have Facebook but I do not live on it.

  1. I would agree with you that it is probably not the best thing in the world to be dependent on anything, including social media but I don't think it ruins personal intimacy. It totally depends on the user. It's like an alcoholic, not everyone who drinks has problem with it.

  2. I agree with the fact that some people spend entirely too much time on social media, however, you pointed out that it ruins intimacy then pointed out that it has helped you get in touch, or keep in touch, with friends and family. I would think that is a positive, and one way that does not ruin intimacy. What has been your experience with seeing too many people engrossed in social media? You started your post with a statement on how you feel about the lack of intimacy, however, you didn't defend your original thought. Why do you think it ruins intimacy for it's users?
